Celestron StarSense
Celestron's StarSense technology is a powerful device that assists in aligning a telescope with the sky in order to make the task of finding objects easier. At its simplest, it works automatically to point the scope in various directions and captures a picture of the sky at that position. The device can then look for the position of stars in the image, and make a comparison with its internal database in order to calculate exactly where in the sky it is pointing.
After taking a series of images (normally at least 3) and making this positional calculation, the mount is then able to point accurately at any position in the sky, making finding objects that are too faint to see with the naked eye a simple task.
